The Stormrider 102 is a jack of all trades all-mountain freeride ski designed to handle anything and everything, with an emphasis on soft snow performance. The Stormrider 102 is the new and revamped version of the older Stormrider 105. While not significantly different in shape and width, a number of subtle tweaks culminate into a smoother, more intuitive ski experience overall. The core and construction ultimately have remained the same. A lightweight wood core on top of which lay two sheets of titanal give the Stormrider 102 that signature smooth Stockli feel. No added cosmetic layers are added over the metal, but rather, the graphic is printed onto the metal which reduces the overall weight of the ski, improves scratch resistance and just makes the ski look super cool. The overarching characterizations of the changes made in this rendition of the Stormrider are essentially more playfulness, better edge hold and better floatation. The narrower waist width and more pronounced tail rocker in this Stormrider allow for better edge release and more playfulness overall. The tail also uses a new light weight polymer to reduce swingweight and increase maneuverability. and The new tip shape, provides more rocker and more effective edge when the ski is laid over which provide enhanced float and improved edge hold respectively. Despite a narrower width, this ski actually floats better than previous renditions thanks to the updated tip shape. If you enjoyed the Stormrider 105, you'll be sure to love the updated performance provided by the Stormrider 102.
